Sometimes I get the feeling that I needa go in the ocean. Turquoise water, a shallow lagoon-the type baby nurse sharks vibe in. But I have a weekend and live in San Jose so I settle for the most mid ocean- the Pacific. I’m just an exotic, tropical girl trying to survive out here. Cabo is close enough to squeeze into a 3 day weekend and has plenty of 5 star hotels. Enter Garza Blanca- a pretty paradise housed along the stunning coastline of Cabo San Lucas. Cabo is SJ’s safe space. This ocean front property has luxurious accommodations for a ~$300/night. They have 6+ restaurants to dine in and multiple pools to take a dip in. This 5 star destination is just 30 minutes from the Cabo Airport.

👀 peep my fav view of the Pacific

Garza Blanca Cabo rooms are perfect for a workcation. They combined comfy luxury with a clean, modern aesthetic. Waking up to the sound of waves crashing against the shore and stepping out on a balcony to a panoramic view of the ocean doesn’t get old. The resort has spacious suites, designed tastefully and stocked with all the modern amenities like robes, hair dryer, etc.  All rooms have balconies and the hotel is designed so each has a stunning view of the ocean. It’s a gorgeous spot to watch the sunset every evening.

Some of their guest suites also come with their own private jacuzzi-this 4 bedroom suite is perfect for those traveling with larger groups.

📍 Rooftop pool
I like to work from places that don’t need a filter. It helps my productivity.

There are more than 7 pools to choose from! There are multiple adult only pools, as well as 2 kid friendly areas.

This hotel is all-inclusive optional so you can get just a room without the food and drinks included and just pay based off the menu. The hotel’s All Inclusive rates range from $320-$450/ per person. A room is $480/night. So for $160 a day, we got all inclusive. My immigrant mindset would make sure that Abhi and I ate at least that much. OYSTERS BY THE BEACH ALLDAY!

There are so many options for food here. Eat in at their fine dining restaurants, beach side, by the pool or even in room service. They all have individual menus but the food is literally on point at all spots. I tried as multiple poolside dishes but with so many options, I couldn’t get through all of them over the entire weekend. They have a rooftop menu here and all their other restaurants are listed here.

Clearly, I loved the food. The desert got Abhi’s stamp of approval too. Their signature desert is the Orange tree modeled after the iconic orange tree that’s present at all Tafer resorts. This representative tree comes with a fluffy cotton candy tops, treats hanging from it’s chocolate trunk and surrounded by macaroons. It’s extremely rich so it’s great for a group- even Abhi had a hard time finishing it.

I’d say we definitely ate our way through this workcation. I loved the dinners because they were mostly seafood dishes! I’d say the ambience was mostly romantic, even though there were a few families we spotted. Although some sites recommend staying here for a bachelorette, I’d honestly think twice about that because it’s still 30min from Squid Roe and all the other bars! Although the suites are really nice, I still prefer an airbnb for large groups. The room service was great and the staff are very attentive. Would 10/10 recommend for a relaxing stay solo, with a partner, families or a couple of friends!

Release Turtle Hatchlings 🐢

The sight of hundreds of baby turtles scurrying towards the ocean across Garza Blanca’s soft white sand was a core memory. Garza Blanca Preserve’s team are prepare themselves for the high season of turtle eggs, keeping an eye open for visiting turtles and collecting the eggs until they hatch-then they release them into the ocean.

Garza Blanca Preserve’s beach is a popular location for marine turtles to lay their eggs, and it is not uncommon to see these incredible creatures making their nests from July through December, although tourists may see turtles arrive to lay eggs at any time of the year. As a means of protecting these endangered animals, there is an active program for collecting eggs left by visiting turtles and protecting them in sanctuaries before returning the baby turtles to the same beaches where they were left by their mothers for release. If you visit between those months, chances are that the team will let you participate in the hatchling’s release to the ocean.

With only a 1% survival rate and their declining numbers, sea turtles are a protected species in Mexico. They need all the help we can give them so the release of baby turtles does some good -in addition to being postable content lol

Garza Blanca Cabo Review 📝

Although I’m a Mariott/Hyatt/Hilton girly, I did really enjoy my stay here. It’s great for calmer beach access that other hotels. It was a great stay for a workcation, they have reliable wifi everywhere and a solid gym. It’s also right next to Grand Velas for a fraction of the cost but the same view. The food was unreal and the services was amazing. I’m not 100% sold that I’ll stay here again since there are just so many all inclusive options to explore; but if you’re not picky about points like I am-this Tafer resort’s worth a stay! It’s also a resort that I imagine would amazing for families with children just because of all the pool options and how safe this resort’s locations and activities are.

Abhi has his laptop out everywhere we go-and I always have a pretty drink. It’s called ~balance~.
